Children's Meditation
 Apologies - there are currently no group classes available. Private classes for one/two children or teens can be booked on request.

Finding stillnness within - through movement, art, music    and other relaxation techniques. A playful and safe introduction to meditation for children and youth. 
 





Benefits of meditation for children:  
There are many physical benefits of meditation but one of the biggest benefits is helping children to take time out and get in touch with themselves. Teaching your children relaxation techniques like meditation enables them to manage their stress - tool for life!                                 
Guided meditations and visualisations help children to develop concentration, imagination and improve their focus and memory; also
reduces stress, strengthens the immune system, regulate and strengthen a healthy sleep pattern, can improve relationships at home and at school, decrease aggressiveness and anxieties, improve behaviour and promote happiness and inner peace.

How does a typical class look like?
On arrival arrival the children will enter a room of peace and tranquillity…. There might be comfy cushions ,candle light, a colourful painting or natural resources to invite the children to let go of their day and be in the now. Throughout the term, the children will experience a variety of relaxing and meditation methods:
  • Breathing exercises and “AUM-ing"
  • Yoga
  • Dance
  • Music and rhythmical exercises to calm the body and then the mind
  • Creating or colouring in mandalas
  • Stories, guided meditations and visualisation exercises
  • Partner and group exercises to foster trust and care for self and others
 
All classes end with savasana, some time for art to express themselves and short group time for children to share their expriences.
